SOS RPT

SOS Resonant Pulse Technology

SOS Resonant Pulse Technology, SOS RPT, is the original psychoacoustic sound-design system developed within Sounds of Spirit.

It provides the technological layer of the wider SOS Coherent Field.

In simple terms

SOS RPT is the electronic layer of the session. While Eliah Jasper plays the didgeridoo, gongs and bowls live, his computer plays soft sustained tones underneath. Their volume gently rises and falls, like a slow pulse or breath, and they move around your head in the headphones.

Eliah Jasper chooses and shapes this pulse during the session: slower to help you settle, faster to bring more presence. The live instruments themselves are never altered.

An evolving field, not one fixed frequency

SOS RPT combines evolving amplitude modulation, multi-rate pulse interaction, controlled frequency drift, harmonic relationships, binaural relationships and immersive spatial movement to create living fields of resonance.

The system is multi-frequency and multi-scale rather than based on one fixed rate.

Several temporal scales working together

A single SOS RPT environment can combine very slow macro-movement, multiple pulse layers, binaural differentiation, harmonic texture and slower spatial trajectories.

Individual components can operate at stable rates, while the complete field evolves through subtle detuning, drift, interaction and longer session-scale movement.

The result is intended to feel like a living resonant environment rather than a mechanical entrainment track.

From settling to activation

Different pulse structures and trajectories can support different experiential directions:

  • Nervous-system settling and bodily ease
  • Deep relaxation and inward absorption
  • Calm, sustained attention
  • Open awareness
  • Immersion and reduced distraction
  • Greater activation or alertness

Rhythmic, binaural and spatial elements can support shifts in attention and subjective brain state. Individual responses vary, and no single rate forces every listener into the same state.

Technology supports the living instruments

SOS RPT is not intended to replace the acoustic performance.

Technology provides precision and temporal structure. Didgeridoo, gongs, bowls, voice, flutes and other living instruments provide breath, harmonic complexity and continuous human variation.

Presence, intention, environment and participant complete the wider SOS Coherent Field.

Influence without deterministic claims

Rhythm, pulse, repetition and binaural relationships interact with auditory processing and attention.

SOS uses these elements to support settling, inward absorption, calm focus, open awareness or activation.

Certain configurations are designed to support conditions associated with autonomic down-regulation, slower pacing, reduced arousal and physiological settling.

SOS does not claim that one frequency automatically creates one EEG state, directly stimulates the vagus nerve or produces the same neurological response in every listener.

An evolving technology

The conceptual SOS RPT architecture is established, while its custom technical implementation continues to be refined and tested.

Musical integration, comfort, subtlety and stability take priority over maximum modulation strength.
